(Miri, 15th) A car accident occurred on Friday (June 13) at about 2 pm on the Pan-Borneo Highway near the Miri to Bintulu direction at the Suae section, resulting in the death of a local man on the spot.
The fatal accident occurred at kilometer 823.2 of the Pan-Borneo Highway in the Miri to Bintulu direction, involving a Perodua Myvi driven by a 32-year-old local man.
At the time of the incident, the car was heading from Miri to Bintulu and allegedly lost control near the Suae area, veering off to the left side of the road and eventually crashing into the roadside bushes.
Police reported that the driver sustained serious injuries in the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene. This case is currently being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for dangerous driving causing death.
