(Kuching, 20th) Eight development projects driven by the Rajang Delta Development Agency (RADDA) in the N.47 Pakan state constituency are being rolled out and planned, aiming to strengthen infrastructure and promote the economic development of the local community.

Pakan assemblyman Tan Sri Dato Sri William Mawan Ikom said these projects cover the fields of economy, society, and infrastructure construction. He is also Advisor to the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Food Industry, Commodities, and Regional Development).

The main projects include the construction of the Pakan Festival Square (Dataran Tapak Pesta Pakan), the Pakan Waterfront, and the building of the Pakan Central Hall (Dewan Sentral Pakan), which are expected to catalyze community activities and the development of local tourism.

In addition, several road upgrading projects are in planning, including the Pakan-Entabai Road (Jalan Pakan–Entabai), Nunggang Road Phase 1 (Jalan Nunggang), Dayu Lama Road Phase 1 (Jalan Dayu Lama), Buku Road Phase 1 (Jalan Buku), and Ulu Wak Road Phase 1 (Jalan Ulu Wak). These projects will improve traffic connectivity and facilitate travel for rural residents.

The above measures are in line with the Sarawak government's policy to accelerate rural development, especially in the central region, so that the benefits of economic growth are more widely shared among the people.

With the implementation of RADDA projects, the Pakan area is expected to undergo significant transformation in infrastructure, road networks, and economic opportunities in the coming years.
