An explosion occurred in the production workshop of a company in Shuozhou, Shanxi Province, China, raising the death toll to eight. The local government has set up an accident investigation team.
According to Xinhua News Agency, an explosion occurred in the production workshop of Jia Peng Biotechnology Co., Ltd. in Shanyin County, Shuozhou, in the early morning of Saturday (February 7). On Sunday morning (the 8th) around 9:30 AM, reporters learned from the accident scene command center that the explosion had caused eight fatalities.
The legal representative of the company involved has currently been taken into custody, and Shuozhou city has already established an accident investigation team.
It is reported that the company involved is located in a mountain valley more than 40 kilometers from Shanyin county seat. There was dark yellow smoke at the accident site, and emergency response work is still ongoing.
