Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Chairman Tan Sri Azam Baki revealed that in the corruption and money laundering case involving former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri, the commission confiscated assets valued at approximately 177 million Malaysian Ringgit.

He stated this set the largest record for asset seizures to date by the MACC.

In addition, he mentioned that the commission has frozen, seized, confiscated, and fined a total of 285 million Malaysian Ringgit in 2024.

Azam Baki made this statement while delivering a speech at the 2024 MACC Media Awards Dinner.

"The MACC will continue to focus on combating cases involving significant corruption and public interest."

He emphasized that in all the MACC's operations, the commission's investigations are independent, transparent, and professional, without any political interference.

"The investigation of major cases proves that no matter who is involved, the MACC is fearless and does not show favor to any party."

He also expressed gratitude to the media, stating that they are an important pillar in ensuring accurate information is conveyed to the public.
