The signing ceremony of the agreement establishing the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization was held in Shanghai on the same day. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi attended and signed the agreement on behalf of the Chinese government.
The headquarters of the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization will be located in Shanghai, with a total of 29 countries signing the agreement and becoming founding member states, including Russia, Kazakhstan, Laos, Indonesia, Pakistan, and several others.
The agreement states that the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization is an intergovernmental international organization, upholding the purposes of the United Nations Charter, adhering to the principles of joint consultation, joint construction, and shared benefits, and insisting on a people-centered approach. The aim is to promote international cooperation and global governance in the field of artificial intelligence, ensuring AI develops in a beneficial, safe, fair, healthy, and orderly direction.
The World Artificial Intelligence Conference and the High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance are being held in Shanghai from the 17th to the 20th.
