(Bandar Seri Begawan, 20th) His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei yesterday participated in a healthy cycling activity in celebration of his 80th birthday.
This was the fourth time the Brunei Royal Equestrian Association has organized an equestrian event for the Sultan’s 80th birthday, with the starting point at the Jerudong Park Polo and Riding Club and concluding at The Empire Brunei Hotel.
Accompanying him were his sons, nephews and grandsons, Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Awang Abdul Mutalib; Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Prince Mateen; Foreign Minister Prince Martin, Princess Anisah Rosnah, and other royal family members.
At the venue, His Majesty met with senior polo leaders, members of the Brunei Royal Equestrian Association, and staff from the secretariat, later commemorating the event with group photos.
During the event, His Majesty led the Sultan’s 80th Birthday Cycling Team, setting off from Field No. 1 of the Jerudong Park Polo and Riding Club and heading towards Jerudong Beach.
Passing through the polo association at the Jerudong Beach market area, His Majesty crossed the Jerudong Xiandang Beach area en route to The Empire Brunei Hotel.
Afterwards, His Majesty attended a birthday breakfast reception at The Empire hosted by the Brunei Royal Equestrian Association and cut a birthday cake to celebrate.
