(Bandar Seri Begawan, 17th) The Ministry of Education recently conducted an "Anti-Tobacco Awareness Education Program and Smoking or Vaping Illegal Behavior Handling Program" at Raja Isteri Girls' High School (STPRI), to address public behavior awareness and resolve social issues related to smoking or vaping among students in the school environment.
This program also supports the Ministry of Education's involvement in the "2022-2025 Cross-Functional Health Team" (CFT) initiative, contributing particularly to the key action of "giving every child the best start in life."
The program was presented by officials from the Health Enforcement Unit of the Manhattan Health Promotion Center and the Customs Department. Attendees included school leaders from District 1, senior teachers in charge of student affairs, and Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) chairpersons.
The event aims to raise students' awareness of the health risks related to tobacco and vaping and to understand the impact on health and academic performance through guided methods and various education and promotion activities within the school. It also aims to enhance the awareness of students, parents, the PTA, village heads, and village chiefs regarding the guidelines and actions for handling tobacco and vaping-related violations in schools.
Similar activities will be conducted in multiple districts, actively promoting a better understanding among students, teachers, parents, the entire school community, and society as a whole regarding their roles in handling school disciplinary issues involving tobacco and vaping, and the actions that should be taken by relevant personnel.
