Minister of Home Affairs Datuk Seri Saifuddin stated that the Ministry of Home Affairs is proposing to expand the use of the National Digital Identity (MyDigital ID) application, especially in the payment of traffic fines.

He said this initiative is part of the government's digital transformation policy, although the use of 'MyDigital ID' is not yet mandatory.

"In fact, the government has agreed to amend the National Registration Act 1959 to fully promote the implementation of a digital identity verification system."

"This is still a proposal and has not been passed in Parliament, but we encourage the public to use this application for identity verification in various affairs."

Saifuddin stated this during a speech at the Royal Malaysia Police Hari Raya celebration event held at the Titiwangsa Stadium on Monday. He further added that future matters involving the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department will prioritize users of 'MyDigital ID'.

"Better yet, users of the application will enjoy a higher fine discount. Previously, the discount was 50%, but with MyDigital ID, it could be 55%. Registration is also very simple, requiring only a mobile phone, and the process is very quick."
