(Miri, 7th) Sarawak Water Supply Company launched an emergency repair operation in the early hours today, after an 18-inch main water pipe near the traffic island by GK Supermarket on Pujut Road No. 3 suddenly burst, resulting in temporary water supply interruptions in multiple areas of Miri.
According to the repair notice released by the water supply company, this emergency repair began at 4 a.m. today and is expected to last until 5 p.m., for a total duration of about 13 hours. As this is an unplanned repair, affected areas will experience low water pressure or temporary suspension of water supply during the repair period.
The affected areas include Piasau, Permyjaya, Tudan, Lutong, Senadin, Southlake, Vista Perdana, Kuala Baram, and their surrounding areas.
The water company stated that water tankers will be on standby to provide assistance to areas with urgent water needs.
The authorities apologize for any inconvenience caused during the repair works and urge affected users to store water in advance to meet their water usage needs during this period.
