Civil Defense Force Takes on Special Mission: This Time, Helping a Citizen Retrieve a Cellphone

(Seremban, 23rd) A woman accidentally dropped her iPhone 11 down a slope about 10 meters deep and sought help from the Civil Defense Force, who accepted this special mission and successfully retrieved the phone for her.
According to Kosmo!, Negeri Sembilan Jempol Civil Defense Force officer Najib said that the Civil Defense Force received a call from a woman in her 20s, requesting assistance to recover her iPhone 11, which had accidentally fallen to the bottom of a slope about 10 meters deep.
"Upon arrival, our team found the woman and her friends still at the site. Since the phone had fallen into a steep and rocky area about 10 meters deep, and the slope surface was slippery and dangerous, Civil Defense Force members donned personal protective equipment and carefully descended to the area using professional tools.
Although this operation did not involve any threat to life, the Civil Defense Force still treated it as a serious mission, as rescuers had to brave an unstable area to ensure the safe recovery of the lost item.
After taking multiple safety precautions, the Civil Defense Force finally retrieved the iPhone and returned it to its owner.
Najib said that unlike traffic accidents, flood disasters, or rescuing trapped individuals—emergencies involving safety of life—this was the first time the Civil Defense Force had received a request to rescue a phone.
"Although this was not a life-saving mission, we remain committed to serving society within the scope of our duties and abilities. This request also reflects the public’s trust in the capabilities of the Civil Defense Force," Najib added.
This incident demonstrates that the Civil Defense Force not only participates in large-scale disaster operations but also plays an important role in helping the public solve small yet challenging difficulties, further strengthening the connection between rescue agencies and the community.
Additionally, the female owner, a university student, said that although it was just an old iPhone 11 that she dropped, the phone was extremely important to her because it stored many end-of-semester assignments, and it also held special sentimental value to her. That’s why she contacted the Civil Defense Force to help recover her phone.
