(Bandar Seri Begawan, 2nd) The Royal Brunei Police Force’s Bangar Police Station recently carried out an operation on Batang Duri Road, successfully detaining a blue Suzuki Alto car and discovering that the local couple inside the vehicle were suspected of possessing prohibited items.
According to police reports, during the inspection, law enforcement officers found multiple prohibited items in a black plastic box inside the car, including one carton of cigarettes, 19 loose cigarettes, and two bottles of alcoholic beverages.
The two suspects were detained on the spot and, together with the confiscated prohibited items, were taken back to Bangar Police Station for further investigation. Subsequently, the police have handed over the case and the items involved to the Customs Department for more in-depth investigation and to take subsequent legal action.
In a statement, police emphasized that they will continue to crack down hard on all illegal activities involving the possession and distribution of prohibited items and called on the public to actively provide information. If there are any suspicious activities, the public can call the emergency hotline 993 or visit the nearest police station to report, working together to maintain social order and safety.
