At Chan Bak Cheung’s home, Buddha statues are worshipped. He revealed that his wife, Wong Hang Sau, worships Guanyin, while he himself is a Catholic—but also a disciple of the famous Thai spiritual master, the White Dragon King. He shared that he was introduced to the White Dragon King through a middleman in 1976 and later became his disciple; even Andy Lau was introduced to the White Dragon King by him.
During the conversation, Chan also mentioned that Tony Leung's father once relied on the White Dragon King to prolong his life: "Tony Leung’s father, after various medical examinations, was told he had no more than 2 months to live. Tony Leung asked me to take him to pray to the White Dragon King. The White Dragon King gave him an apple and a lotus seed pod to take home to his father. After eating the apple, a week later there was no sign of passing (referring to dying)."
Chan Bak Cheung continued, saying Tony Leung’s father's wish was to see his grandson born: "In the end, three years later, his two grandsons were born. After seeing his grandchildren, he passed away naturally." Since Tony Leung has no children, he was referring to the children of Tony Leung’s sister. Chan admitted that he personally took Tony Leung to see the White Dragon King, and as for why such a miraculous event happened, he said he couldn't explain it himself.
