A fire broke out early morning on the 6th at a hotel near Kyoto Station in Japan, suspected to have been caused by a power bank catching fire in a second floor guest room. Fortunately, no one was injured. However, the incident led to an emergency evacuation of hotel guests, causing considerable commotion.

According to Japanese media reports, the fire alarm occurred at around 1:40 a.m. on the 6th in a guest room on the second floor of the 'Kyoto Hachijo Miyako Hotel' located near JR Kyoto Station in Kyoto City.

Firefighters arrived promptly and extinguished the fire using a fire extinguisher, quickly bringing the situation under control and preventing the fire from spreading.

The room in question was occupied by two Chinese women in their 30s, who were both unharmed.

According to the fire department, a power bank and part of a desk in the room caught fire and burned. The initial assessment indicates that the power bank may have been the cause of the fire. Police and fire authorities are currently investigating the exact cause.

The hotel is a building with 10 floors above ground and 2 underground floors. At the time of the fire, there were about 2,000 guests inside, and police and firefighters conducted a temporary evacuation.

A 60-something-year-old Australian male guest staying at the hotel said, 'I heard the voice alarm of the fire detector saying "Fire on the second floor" while I was sleeping, so I ran out immediately. I didn't even have time to grab my passport or luggage.'
