Taiwanese star Boling Chen was involved in a sudden military service case last October, ultimately posting bail of 500,000 TWD (about 62,000 MYR), but as a result, all of his entertainment work was put on hold. Recently, there have been reports that his company was emptied out by a friend, and that his wedding with his girlfriend, Tingxuan, has been indefinitely postponed, stalling both his career and wedding plans. On the 10th, it was once again reported that the second season of the reality show "What A Trip," previously hosted by Boling Chen, has started preparations—but Chen's name is absent from the list of hosts. "NOWnews Today News" also tried to contact Boling Chen for a response, but as of press time, had not received one.
According to "Mirror Weekly," Boling Chen co-hosted "What A Trip" with singer Huang Xuan last year, and preparations for a second season have recently begun—but again, Chen's name does not appear on the list of hosts. The report noted that due to the strong reception of the first season, the production team had already started collaborating with Singapore Mediacorp last November to produce season two. It was originally rumored that the original cast would return, but after Boling Chen's military service incident broke, resulting in multiple endorsement deals being terminated, the producers decided after evaluation not to have him host the second season.
In addition to his stalled career, Boling Chen had originally planned to marry his girlfriend of 13 years, Tingxuan, in New Zealand at the end of last year. However, after the military incident, the wedding could only be postponed, with vendors as well as flights and accommodations all rescheduled. Since the restaurant owners in New Zealand don’t know who Boling Chen is, they’ve been inquiring about the new date, afraid of losing their investment. Recently, there were also reports that he took a low-profile vacation to Spain, but according to eyewitnesses, Tingxuan was not seen with him.
