(Bandar Seri Begawan, 12th) The Baiduri Bank Employee Wellness Initiative (EWI), in collaboration with Laksamana College of Business Culinary School (LCB), Ministry of Health (MOH), and the Community Development Department (JAPEM), recently held the latest installment of the “Buat & Bagi” event, continuing the excellent tradition of preparing and distributing meals to communities across Brunei during Ramadan.
This event has been held for five years, spontaneously organized by Baiduri Bank employees and supported by voluntary staff donations. Originally stemming from simple acts of kindness, it has now grown into a meaningful annual project, reflecting the bank’s commitment to giving back to society and supporting community well-being.
Through the joint efforts of 60 volunteers from the bank, chefs and students from the culinary school, a total of 600 nutritious meals were prepared, packed, and distributed over a span of four days.
As part of the initiative, Baiduri Bank’s Health Ambassadors delivered 200 meals to patients and frontline staff (including mental health, pediatrics, and emergency department medical staff) at the central hospital, as well as healthcare workers at Tutong’s central hospital. This action was aimed at supporting patients and their families during Ramadan, while also expressing appreciation for healthcare workers serving the nation.
Additionally, 400 meals were distributed to the wider community, including residents and staff of the Welfare Centre, as well as various mosques nationwide, such as Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque, Utama Mohammad Salleh Mosque, and Amira Hajat Maryam Mosque.
Through events like “Buat & Bagi” (Create & Give), the bank continues to encourage employees to make meaningful contributions to the community during Ramadan, while fostering a spirit of compassion, unity, and collective responsibility.
