Iran’s Revolutionary Guard issued a statement on the 27th saying that the Revolutionary Guard Navy has carried out strikes on multiple US targets in the Middle East region in response to US airstrikes on Iran’s coastal areas.
The statement indicated that following Israel’s violation of the cease-fire agreement in southern Lebanon, the United States once again broke its commitment and, citing illegal maneuvers of ships in the Strait of Hormuz, launched airstrikes on Iran’s coastal areas.
The statement said that, according to the Iran-US memorandum of understanding, the traffic control arrangements in the Strait of Hormuz are the responsibility of Iran. However, the United States has instigated relevant parties to try to undermine this, and Iran has made the necessary response. If such violations occur again, Iran’s response will be even more severe.
