Western pop diva “Madonna” (Madonna) has led a legendary and brilliant life, which was originally planned to be brought to the big screen by Hollywood. Unexpectedly, shocking news has emerged without warning that the project has now been completely scrapped. Recently, Madonna confirmed for the first time in an interview, dropping a bombshell that she and Hollywood giant Universal Studios have officially fallen out over film budget issues.
Reportedly, Universal Studios simply could not figure out the sky-high budget requested by Madonna. In order to move production forward, Madonna even made a concession and suggested moving the crew to Serbia in Europe for low-cost on-location shooting. Unexpectedly, this proposal was met with sneering sarcasm from Universal’s top executives.
In response, Madonna accused Universal’s higher-ups of having no faith in her, not even believing she could last more than four days in Serbia. This made Madonna rage and retort, “Did you even read the script? I’m not going there for a vacation! I’ve been fighting to survive my whole life!” However, this globally anticipated project has now ended up as nothing.
Madonna appeared quite furious in the interview, revealing helplessly that she spent two full years working on her biopic’s screenplay, and another two years collaborating with Universal's producers, crunching budgets and selecting actors. “In the end, Universal and I tore each other apart over the budget!” In the interview, Madonna was even more domineering, stating: “I’ve lived so brilliantly and have such an extraordinary life. Of course I need a super big budget!”
After all ties with Universal Studios were completely severed, the film fell into a stagnant state. At this time, streaming giant Netflix aggressively extended an olive branch, proposing to turn it into a biographical series. Unexpectedly, this only began another hellish cycle. What broke Madonna’s heart even more was that Universal Studios subsequently locked down the script’s copyright. Madonna lambasted Universal: “I wrote the script, yet I can’t even use it directly unless I pay some sky-high ransom for it like I’m being extorted. Need I say more? This is just Hollywood’s dirty trickery.”#
