Heartthrob Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, once a superstar feud couple, officially reached their divorce agreement at the end of last year after more than 8 years of legal battles. However, it turns out their time facing off in court isn't over yet, as Pitt has now submitted the latest legal documents to the court, requesting access to ex-wife Jolie's private messages.
According to media reports, on the 30th of last month, Pitt filed documents stating that he has had difficulty obtaining Jolie's communication records, and that he believes some of these text messages may provide crucial evidence in their ongoing dispute over the French winery "Chateau Miraval."
The former couple have long been embroiled in an intense court fight. Since Jolie sold her $64 million (about RM271 million) stake in 2021 to Russian tycoon Yuri Shefler—the owner of SPI Group, the parent company of famous liquor brand Stoli—their dispute has only intensified. Pitt claims that Jolie sold her share without his consent, violating a prior agreement they made—to sell any stake, both parties must obtain approval from the other.
Pitt and Jolie have also been locked in a standoff over a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), making the NDA a key sticking point in their dispute over the winery. In July last year, Jolie requested that Pitt "end the feud" and withdraw the lawsuit so their family could "heal." But sources cited by the Daily Mail said Pitt has "no intention" of withdrawing the suit and accused Jolie of making the plea only after realizing her legal standing wasn't as strong as expected.
