(Bandar Seri Begawan, 16th) According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Government of His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei and the Government of the Kingdom of Bhutan have decided to establish diplomatic relations effective from July 13, 2026.
The two sides signed a joint communiqué at the Permanent Mission of Brunei Darussalam to the United Nations in New York, USA.
The Government of His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei was represented by its Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Pg Hjh Hajah Haiarani, while the Government of the Kingdom of Bhutan was represented by its Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Doma Tshering.
