During China's National Day holiday, there was an overwhelming number of tourists climbing Mount Tai. Several climbers posted videos on the 2nd, saying that from the night of the 1st to daytime on the 2nd, it rained lightly in the Mount Tai scenic area, accompanied by strong winds, and the temperature at night was also quite low. Many tourists spent the night sheltering from the rain in mountain toilets or in paid hotels. The next morning, it was still raining, so visitors were not able to see the sunrise.
According to Jimu News, Mount Tai scenic area staff stated on the 2nd that since it is the National Day holiday, the number of people climbing Mount Tai is very high. From the night of the 1st to the daytime on the 2nd, it has been raining continuously in the area. They suggest visitors check Mount Tai's weather before traveling and choose sunny days to visit. If it rains while climbing, tourists can shelter in the nearest indoor place.
The report quoted a Mount Tai climber as saying that it started raining at around 8 p.m. on the 1st, and there are not many places to take shelter from the rain on the mountain. Moreover, there were a lot of visitors that day—so many that even the toilets were packed with people. Many tourists got soaked. Scenic area staff also opened indoor locations such as Bixia Temple on the mountain for shelter, but the limited space could not accommodate too many people. Many also chose to descend the mountain overnight.

The report also states that after inquiring at a hotel near the Mount Tai summit, the staff said that spending the night in the lobby costs 80 to 100 RMB (47 to 59 Ringgit) per person. Online consumer platforms show that a hotel near the summit is providing a holiday seat during the National Day holiday at 99 RMB (58.5 Ringgit) per person, which includes overnight stay on the mountaintop, one cup noodle, unlimited hot water, mobile phone charging, and WiFi.
