Exhibition of Pedophilic Content Displays Student Photos - Farina: Education Ministry Reports to MCMC

(Kuala Lumpur, 13th) The Ministry of Education reported to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) on Tuesday (10th) regarding reports of pedophilic content appearing on social media, displaying photos of school students.
Education Minister Farina stated that the ministry is very concerned about reports of pedophilic content appearing on social media and believes it is necessary to report and take action.
She said that the Ministry of Education will extend the teaching time of the Social and Reproductive Health Education Guidelines (PEERS) in the 2027 school curriculum to enhance educational effectiveness.
She stated that it is necessary to curb pornographic and immoral content present on social media, and relevant pages should be reported immediately and decisive action taken.
Farina pointed out that the Ministry of Education has established the Social and Reproductive Health Education Guidelines (PEERS) to raise awareness of reproductive health among the general public, especially students, teachers, and parents.
She also emphasized that all educational institutions under the Ministry of Education must comply with existing sexual harassment response guidelines and continue to strengthen psychosocial support services to provide assistance and support to affected students.
She called on parents to educate and protect their children from the threat of sexual harassment, as parents have the responsibility to ensure their children's dignity and safety are not violated.
