‘Elegant Goddess’ Lin Xilei recently appeared on the program How Are You Today for an exclusive interview, candidly sharing rarely mentioned stories from her childhood and life journey. Regarding the common perception that she is aloof and hard to approach, Lin Xilei admitted that this actually stems from the independent personality she developed from a young age. She revealed that after graduating from university, she entered the entertainment industry, and her very first film was a collaboration with superstar Andy Lau. At the time, she was like a blank slate, which allowed her to relax and truly immerse herself in the experience. Over the decades in the dazzling world of showbiz, she has always maintained a disciplined routine of going to bed early and rising early.
On the show, Lin Xilei unveiled memories of her childhood for the first time. She mentioned that while sorting through letters left by her father recently, she came across a letter she wrote at age 10, realizing that she had always been the 'caretaker' of the family since childhood. Back then, not only could she read the room and silently take on responsibilities as a habit, but even when she complained about her brother in the letter, she still maturely reminded her father to take care of his health. This memory was very touching for her and made her understand where her independent and resilient character comes from.
When talking about married life, Lin Xilei laughed and said that after meeting her lively husband, she herself became a lot more cheerful. After marriage, she began to learn not to 'shoulder everything on her own,' but to let her better half participate. From sharing household chores to parenting together, she deliberately leaves room for her husband to take the initiative. She realized that the secret to a happy marriage is not fighting alone, but letting both parties feel 'needed.' She has no regrets about her past, and what she now most hopes to pass on to her children is the ability to grow up bravely and to be considerate of others.
