Former Economy Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi speculated that there are three possible substances in the liquid inside the syringe used by the assailant to prick his son: drugs or poison, viruses such as HIV or hepatitis, or simply water.
“Medical testing takes a long time. This is my personal view: the injected substance could be drugs or poison, viruses such as HIV or hepatitis, or it could simply be water.”
He said during a press conference in the Parliamentary media room on Thursday (14th) that his son has undergone initial blood tests and is currently under observation, which will need to continue for several months.
He pointed out that based on the current 24-hour observation, the situation is good so far—there have been no other immediate reactions in the body. From a father’s perspective, he believes the possibility of drugs or toxic substances being injected can be ruled out for now.
He thinks that follow-ups of at least six months are needed. “My son will need to undergo blood and full-body tests every 6 weeks, and we will only know the result after 6 months.”
He hopes that, in the best case scenario, nothing was injected at all and his son’s recovery is progressing well.
