Malaysian singer JessC (钟洁希) has specially invited Malay gold-medal emcee and all-round entertainer Dato’ AC Mizal for a first-time collaboration in conjunction with Raya 2026. Together, they are launching the festive single "Mari Menari Raya," injecting fresh energy into traditional Raya songs with upbeat rhythms.
Regarding her first collaboration with AC Mizal, JessC complimented his professionalism during the recording session, saying, “Although it's our first time working together, the chemistry was great and he took every detail very seriously.”
Having previously won the Best Asian Pop Music Award at the American InterContinental Music Awards (ICMA), JessC has boldly broken away from her usual healing-music style this time. The new track fuses Hip-Hop Rap and modern pop elements, giving traditional Raya music a more youthful and international flair. The entire song is produced by an American music producer, with light-hearted rhythms and joyful melodies, while the rap section adds a global pop touch, all the while retaining the rich festive spirit.
AC Mizal himself is a member of the classic Malay rap group "4U2C" and is also an actor, singer, host and comedian. With over 30 years in the entertainment industry, he enjoys immense popularity. Beyond his professional side, he also showcased his humorous nature during the MV shoot—often sharing jokes on set and making the atmosphere light and joyful amid laughter.
At the press conference, AC Mizal praised JessC's team as one of the best he’s seen in over three decades: “This is one of the most impressive teams I've encountered in my 30-plus years—the dancers and crew are all multi-talented.” He added that upon hearing the demo, he was immediately drawn to it, as it was completely different from his previous musical styles. Always keen to try something new, he quickly agreed to join the project.
JessC also revealed that, in addition to releasing new works, she is actively preparing for a year-end concert, and plans to invite AC Mizal as a special guest. AC Mizal agreed without hesitation and looks forward to performing together again, hoping they can bring even more musical sparks to the audience. #
