The joint operations between China and Myanmar continue to crackdown on telecom network fraud crimes. Recently, Myanmar law enforcement agencies have transferred more than 920 Chinese telecom fraud suspects, who were previously arrested in areas such as Nanyun and Mong Hsu in the southern Shan State of Myanmar, to Chinese authorities through Xishuangbanna in Yunnan Province.

● Multiple Rounds of Crackdown by the Myanmar Side

The Ministry of Public Security announced on the 23rd that the crackdown operations by China and Myanmar have cumulatively apprehended more than 55,000 Chinese suspects involved in fraud, dealing a heavy blow to fraud groups in northern Myanmar. However, some fraudsters have relocated to areas such as Nanyun and Mong Hsu in Myanmar to avoid capture, setting up new hideouts to continue their activities.

Chinese police have promptly provided leads to the Myanmar side, assisting them in identifying new fraud hideouts. Since March 24th, Myanmar has conducted multiple rounds of focused crackdown operations, arresting more than 920 Chinese fraud suspects and confiscating a large number of crime tools on-site, including computers, mobile phones, bank cards, and fraud scripts.

A relevant official from the Ministry of Public Security emphasized that the joint efforts between China and Myanmar to combat telecom network fraud crimes will not waver, firmly eradicating fraudulent hideouts and making full efforts to hunt down suspects. Fraudsters are warned to return to China and surrender as soon as possible to seek leniency and clemency.
