(City, 8th) The Deputy President of the Brunei Modern Chinese Culture Calligraphy and Painting Association, Yu Qing, shared with readers a couplet inscribed at the Xiaoshan Daoyuan Zen Temple by Jin Shengtan, a literary figure from the early Qing dynasty, using the cursive script.
Original text: Rain enters the heart of the flower, naturally becoming sweet or bitter; water returns to the container, naturally appearing square or round.
This refers to the rain descending from the sky being the same, but after seeping into the different hearts of flowers, it results in sweet or bitter outcomes due to the flowers' unique characteristics.
It also means that the same water, when poured into different vessels, changes its shape to round or square depending on the vessels' unique characteristics.

Additionally, Yu Qing also wrote, in cursive script, a famous line from Li Bai's "Departing from Baidi City at Dawn" during the Tang dynasty: The light boat has already passed a myriad of mountains.
Original text: The monkeys on both shores won't stop crying, the light boat has already passed a myriad of mountains.
This line expresses the poet's joy of overcoming difficulties and entering a broad, bright path. It portrays scenery and embodies metaphor, expressing personal feelings and summarizing life experiences, inspired by objects, crafted to perfection.
Moreover, the honorary permanent president of the Brunei Modern Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Culture Association, Dr. Hong Xilong, shared a watercolor painting of Dragon Boat Festival dumplings with readers.
