Sarawak Premier Arrives in China to Witness PETROS-CJI Framework Agreement Signing

(Kuching, 11th) Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari arrived in Nanjing, China yesterday morning to embark on a working visit, during which he will witness the signing of a framework agreement between Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS) and relevant parties, as well as conduct a site visit to the internationally renowned Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP).
According to the Sarawak Public Communications Unit, the Premier’s trip began with an engagement session with the People's Government of Jiangsu Province to kickstart the visit.
Subsequently, Abang Johari and the Sarawak delegation will witness the signing of the PETROS framework agreement with China Jiangsu International Economic and Technical Cooperation Group Ltd (CJI) at CJI’s headquarters in Nanjing.

On the third day of the visit, the Premier will head to one of China’s most successful industrial, technology, and innovation development hubs—the Suzhou Industrial Park—to participate in a series of high-impact meetings.
During the visit, he will receive development briefings at the park’s exhibition hall and one-stop service center, and hold a formal meeting with the Suzhou Industrial Park Administrative Committee. The itinerary also includes visits to several leading enterprises within the park.
Suzhou Industrial Park is renowned for smart manufacturing, automation, and its high-tech research ecosystem, serving as an important model for Sarawak’s drive towards a technology-driven and green energy economic model, in line with the state’s vision for future development.

Members of the Sarawak delegation include:
• PETROS Chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Hamid Bugo
• Deputy Minister of Utilities (Sarawak Energy Berhad and PETROS Affairs) Datuk Ibrahim Baki
• PETROS Group Chief Executive Officer Dato Janin Girie
• and other senior officials.
