(Bandar Seri Begawan, 22nd) Led by President Sun De'an of the Chinese Literary and Arts Federation, a group of five—Zhu Yunli, Lin Meiyu, Xing Xiuzhu, and Lin Yuantai—recently visited Bruneian poet and teacher Liang Youqing to engage in a warm exchange on poetry creation and the literary life.
Since retiring from his teaching position at Chung Hwa School in Brunei, Teacher Liang Youqing has not let the years slip by idly. On the contrary, he remains devoted to the written word, immersed in poetry, and continues to write diligently. For one to stay true to their passion after leaving the workforce is a rare form of spiritual self-discipline. Living in Brunei, known as the “Land of Peace,” Teacher Liang has always maintained a healthy and enduring lifestyle—reading, writing poems, and quietly listening to the changing of the seasons.
