On the morning of the 22nd, Japan's Minister of State for Economic and Fiscal Policy, Jinnai Minoru, visited the Yasukuni Shrine, which enshrines Class-A war criminals from World War II.
This is the first time Cabinet Minister Sanae Takaichi has visited the shrine.
At the same time, 126 members of the cross-party parliamentary alliance "Everyone Visits Yasukuni Shrine Together" also paid a collective visit to the shrine that day.
The Yasukuni Shrine is located in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, and enshrines 14 Class-A war criminals from World War II, including Hideki Tojo. For a long time, some Japanese politicians and members of parliament have persisted in visiting Yasukuni Shrine, drawing strong criticism from the international community.
