Riam Junior Chamber International Promotes Environmental Awareness at '12-Hour Beach Cleaning Party'

(Miri, 16th) Last Saturday (April 12), the Miri Riam Junior Chamber International (JCI) participated in the '12-Hour Beach Cleaning Party' initiated by the famous local DJ Yuan Xiangming. The event was held at the coastline of Miri Marina City, combining music and environmentalism, aiming to enhance public environmental awareness and improve coastal hygiene.

The event attracted over a hundred enthusiastic citizens, volunteers, and club members. On-site, 15 DJs took turns spinning discs to boost the morale of the volunteers and create a relaxed yet meaningful atmosphere.

Riam JCI also sent several members to actively participate, cleaning up plastic bottles, glass fragments, food packaging bags, and other litter on the beach, fulfilling a social responsibility to restore the beach's clean appearance.

The Miri Riam JCI has always been very active in participating in various public welfare and environmental protection activities. Involvement in this beach cleaning action is not only about practically cleaning the beach litter but also hopes to convey the important message of environmental protection through this participation, raising public awareness of ecological protection, especially among young people.

The organization pointed out that Miri, as an important tourist city in Sarawak, has long attracted many domestic and foreign tourists. However, in recent years, due to the irresponsible behavior of some people, environmental hygiene problems have become increasingly serious, affecting the city's image.

Vice President Chen Xingyou stated that environmental protection should be a part of life. He urged citizens to reduce the use of disposable plastics and to not litter, to jointly guard the beautiful coast.
