(Kuala Lumpur, 15th) After a 12-year hiatus, Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Malaysia aims to achieve fruitful outcomes, enhance political trust between the two countries, and usher in a 'Golden 50 Years' for China-Malaysia relations.

He expressed a deep sense of familiarity in setting foot on this land once again and extended sincere greetings and good wishes on behalf of the Chinese government and people to the Malaysian government and its people.

He stated that China and Malaysia are friendly neighbors across the sea, with a traditional friendship that spans thousands of years. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations over half a century ago, both countries have adhered to mutual respect, equality, and win-win cooperation, setting an exemplary model for interstate relations.

He noted that in 2023, both countries reached an important consensus on building a China-Malaysia community with a shared future. Last year, they grandly celebrated the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations. As important developing countries and members of the Global South, deepening high-level strategic cooperation aligns with their common interests and contributes to peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and beyond.

Invited by the Malaysian King Sultan Ibrahim, Xi Jinping commenced his state visit to Malaysia today and made a brief written statement upon arriving at the Malaysian airport.

He mentioned that during this visit, he will engage in in-depth exchanges of views with the King and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on bilateral relations and international and regional issues of mutual concern.

"I look forward to taking this visit as an opportunity to further deepen the traditional friendship between the two countries, enhance mutual political trust, advance cooperation in modernization, promote civilizational exchanges and mutual learning, and push forward the construction of the China-Malaysia community with a shared future to new heights.

"I believe that with joint efforts from both sides, this visit will certainly yield fruitful results, writing a new chapter of good-neighborly friendship and mutual benefit, and opening a 'Golden 50 Years' of China-Malaysia relations."
