(Bandar Seri Begawan, 7th) The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) will collaborate with the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council (BDNOC) to host the 20th Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Fun Run event at the Brunei Empire Hotel on April 15 at 5 PM. Approximately 500 participants are invited to attend, including students, national sports associations, sports councils, and international representatives.

Categories in the fun run include a 2.8 km men's open, a 2.8 km women's open, a 1.4 km boys' fun run for those under 12, a 1.4 km girls' fun run for those under 12, a 1.4 km fun run for persons with disabilities, a 1.4 km men's veterans fun run, a 1.4 km women's veterans fun run, and a 1.4 km fun run for workshop representatives. All participants will receive a certificate of participation, and the top 10 in each category will receive medals. OCA executive members will preside over the awarding ceremony.

The fun run aims not only to promote the host country but also to foster a sense of community and encourage participants to adopt a healthy lifestyle. The fun run will take place following the second OCA Gender Equality Workshop in Brunei, and a warm-up session will be conducted, where all runners will begin the race.

The workshop will employ an integrated approach to maximize learning, engagement, and practical outcomes. It will feature a series of expert-led presentations providing foundational knowledge and strategic insights into sports gender equality issues. Following the presentations, leaders and stakeholders in the field of gender equality will partake in panel discussions, allowing participants to share views and experiences.

The workshop, held from April 14 to 15, will also invite 19 speakers from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), UN Women, the Oceania National Olympic Committees (ONOC), and the International Working Group on Women and Sport (IWG). They will share insights and experiences in promoting gender equality in sports.

The OCA has invited 10 guests, including honorary executive board members of the OCA and members of the OCA Gender Equality Committee, emphasizing the OCA's commitment to creating a more inclusive sports environment for women.

This year's workshop theme is "See Her Shine," aimed at all 45 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) in Asia, specifically targeting the secretaries-general and female sports members of each Asian NOC.

Currently, 88 participants from 43 Asian NOCs have confirmed their attendance. The first OCA Gender Equality Workshop was held in Manama, Bahrain, in 2022, setting a precedent for future discussions on sports gender equality. Building on this, the upcoming workshop promises a rich experience for all attendees, engaging them in dialogues and collaborations aimed at increasing opportunities for Asian women in sports.
