(Kuching, 27th) A 41-year-old local man was killed and an Indonesian woman was slightly injured in an accident that occurred near Kampung Bogag on the Stone Lung Mun–Silikin Road last night (October 25).
Siburan District Police Chief Superintendent Mohd Haide A. Rahman issued a statement today, stating that the incident occurred at around 6:20 am.
“Preliminary investigation shows that the four-wheel-drive vehicle, driven by the man and carrying two passengers, lost control and skidded at a corner before plunging into a ravine.”
He said that the injured woman was sent by ambulance to Siburan Hospital for treatment and has been discharged, while the man was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
The police are investigating the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 (Dangerous Driving Causing Death).
The authorities urge anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
