Miri Hainan Association Successfully Holds Accent Singing Competition

(Miri, 21st) Organized by the Miri Hainan Association and hosted by the Women's Group, the 'Hainan Accent Singing Competition' was successfully held on April 20th (Sunday) at Jiacheng Karaoke.

The purpose of this event is to retain the accent, emotions, and roots of the hometown, preserving and spreading the Hainan accent through songs.
 
The first vice chairman of the Hainan Association, Ng Sai Keong, expressed in his opening speech the hope that participants will give their all, using their melodious voices to forge ahead successfully into the finals and bring glory to the Miri Hainan Association.

He stated that the winner of the singing contest held that night will represent the Miri Hainan Association in the Sarawak Selection Competition held on May 10th in Kuching to participate in the national finals in August.

This competition attracted many members who are passionate about the Hainan accent to participate enthusiastically. The atmosphere on-site was lively, and contestants showcased their singing abilities, demonstrating their love and commitment to their hometown's language and culture.
 
After a heated contest, Foo Yu Chin won the championship, and Wong Ah Ying was the runner-up. The Miri Hainan Association thanked all participants and the hardworking staff behind the scenes.
