Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar met with foreign ministers from multiple countries on Wednesday morning, marking the start of a series of high-level meetings for the 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting (AMM).
Before the opening ceremony of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting presided over by Anwar, Foreign Minister Dato' Seri Mohamad Hasan led the ASEAN foreign ministers in a courtesy call.
The attending foreign ministers included Brunei's Second Minister of Foreign Affairs Erywan, Cambodia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Prak Sokhonn, Indonesia's Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Laos' Minister of Foreign Affairs Saleumxay Kommasith; Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo; Singapore's Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan; Thailand's Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa; and Vietnam's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son.

ASEAN Secretary-General Dr. Kao Kim Hourn also attended the 30-minute meeting.
The 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting and related meetings are among Malaysia's key agendas as the rotating chair of ASEAN for 2025. Held from the 8th to 11th of this month, around 1,500 delegates are expected to attend the four-day event featuring 24 ministerial meetings, including foreign ministers from ASEAN member states, Timor-Leste, ASEAN Dialogue Partners, ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) participants, sectoral dialogue partners, and senior officials from the ASEAN Secretariat.
