Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Kuala Lumpur on the 15th and stated in a written speech that efforts should be made to continuously elevate the building of the China-Malaysia community of shared destiny to a new level, opening a new golden 50 years of China-Malaysia relations.
According to the website of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the evening of the 15th local time, Xi Jinping arrived in Kuala Lumpur by special plane, and was welcomed at the airport by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar, Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan, and Transport Minister Loke Siew Fook.
In his written speech, Xi Jinping stated that China and Malaysia are friendly neighbors across the sea with a friendship stretching back thousands of years. Over the past half century since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two countries have adhered to mutual respect, treated each other as equals, and engaged in win-win cooperation, setting a model for international relations. In 2023, the two sides reached important consensus on jointly building the China-Malaysia community of shared destiny, and last year the two countries grandly celebrated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
He said that as important developing countries and members of the Global South, deepening high-level strategic cooperation between China and Malaysia conforms to their shared interests and contributes to peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and the world.
Xi Jinping expressed that he looks forward to using this visit as an opportunity to further deepen the traditional friendship between the two countries, enhance political mutual trust, advance cooperation in modernization, promote exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, and continuously elevate the building of the China-Malaysia community of shared destiny to a new level, thereby opening a new golden 50 years of China-Malaysia relations.
