(Kuching, 25th) Malaysian Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, stated that to prevent abuse of the 'Malaysia My Second Home' (MM2H) program, the ministry has implemented stricter agent registration and service fee standards.
Tiong King Sing announced in a Facebook post after officially launching the 'Visit Malaysia 2026' (VM2026) and MM2H program's promotional activities in China, held in Beijing: 'To enhance transparency and boost applicants' confidence, we have introduced stricter standards for agent registration and service fees.
'If an agent violates regulations while providing MM2H services, their license may be suspended or revoked according to the law. This is an important step towards improving governance and protecting the interests of applicants and partners.'
He emphasized that the improved MM2H program is now divided into three tiers: Platinum, Gold, and Silver, to meet the diverse needs and backgrounds of international applicants.
Moreover, he mentioned, the MM2H program is no longer confined to residential purposes; it also extends to cover investment, lifestyle, education, and healthcare opportunities. The program is further supported by regional development initiatives such as the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) and Forest City Special Financial Zone (SFZ).
'These strategic initiatives position Malaysia as the ideal gateway for global talents and investors entering the Southeast Asian hub,' he added.
Speaking of the VM2026 promotional campaign, Tiong King Sing urged stakeholders to collectively shape a comprehensive tourism ecosystem, including innovative attractions, high-quality services, immersive experiences, and multilingual promotions.
'Let us showcase Malaysia's breathtaking natural beauty, vibrant multicultural heritage, deep historical background, and Muslim-friendly tourism advantages, allowing global travelers to truly experience the magic of 'Malaysia, Truly Asia’.'
