Some Starbucks stores in China have set up study rooms, with staff members saying that there is no payment required to enter these study rooms.
According to China’s Jiupai News, employees at several Starbucks stores in Guangzhou and Shenzhen confirmed on Monday (July 21) that Starbucks has newly launched study rooms for customers to use for studying.
Some staff members in Shenzhen stated that payment is not required to enter the study rooms, there are no time limits, and no reservation is necessary. Stores provide free power outlets and free hot water. Other employees in Guangzhou said that the study room is not separate from the beverage area, and everyone studies together at the same long table.
In response to inquiries from Jiupai Caijing about this, Starbucks China stated that Starbucks has always been committed to meeting customers' diverse needs at different times and in different scenarios, offering high-quality innovative beverages and excellent store services to create a unique third place experience for customers.
The report also states that some Starbucks stores in Guangxi and Hainan have also set up study rooms.
Starbucks Guangzhou has already promoted the "Starzi Study Room" on Weibo. Last Wednesday (the 16th), they posted that the study room offers free WiFi, a stable signal, plenty of outlets, uninterrupted power, floor-to-ceiling windows with broad views, and good natural lighting.
