In conjunction with the 47th ASEAN Summit and related meetings, Chinese Premier Li Qiang will attend the 28th China–ASEAN Leaders’ Meeting for two consecutive days starting on the 27th of this month.

According to the official website of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during his two-day visit to Malaysia, Li Qiang will also participate in the 28th ASEAN Plus Three Leaders’ Meeting, the 20th East Asia Summit, and the 5th Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Leaders’ Meeting.

This is also the second time this year that Li Qiang is visiting Malaysia. Earlier, at the invitation of ASEAN’s rotating chair Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar in May, he attended the ASEAN–China–Gulf Cooperation Council Summit in Kuala Lumpur from May 26 to 28.

Before his second visit to Malaysia this year, Li Qiang will first visit Singapore on the 25th and 26th.

"The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced: At the invitation of Lawrence Wong, Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore, Premier Li Qiang will pay an official visit to Singapore from October 25 to 26.

"At the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar, the ASEAN rotating chair, Premier Li Qiang will attend the 28th China–ASEAN Leaders’ Meeting, the 28th ASEAN Plus Three Leaders’ Meeting, the 20th East Asia Summit, and the 5th Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Leaders’ Meeting, to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from October 27 to 28."

Malaysia, serving as the ASEAN Chair in 2025 and hosting the 47th ASEAN Summit under the theme of "Inclusion and Sustainability," aims to provide an important platform to deepen regional cooperation and address global challenges with cohesion and inclusivity.

In addition to Li Qiang, high-level representatives from around the world—including U.S. President Trump, Japan, Russia, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and others—will be present, making this one of the largest and most important international conferences ever held in Malaysia.
