The latest poll from Taiwan's pro-green media shows that President Lai Ching-te's trust level and satisfaction with his administration have both plummeted by over eight percentage points. For the first time since taking office, the satisfaction with his administration has fallen below the dissatisfaction rate.

The poll results released by Taiwan's 'Beautiful Island Electronic Newspaper' on the 28th show that Lai Ching-te's trust level dropped by 8.1 percentage points, falling from 56.7% in March to 48.6% in April. Meanwhile, the distrust level rose significantly from 37.0% to 43.0%.

Lai Ching-te's administrative performance has experienced a 'death cross' situation, with satisfaction plummeting by 8.5 percentage points, from 55.6% in March to 47.1% in April, while dissatisfaction increased from 40.6% to 47.3%.

Premier Chuo Jong-tai's administrative performance satisfaction also decreased by four percentage points to 43.4%, while dissatisfaction surged by 6.9 percentage points to 42.6%.

This survey was conducted by Beacon Marketing Research Company, commissioned by 'Beautiful Island Electronic Newspaper' via telephone interviews from April 22 to 24, targeting adults aged 20 and above across 22 counties and cities in Taiwan with a successful completion of 1059 interviews. The sampling error at a 95% confidence level has a maximum value of plus or minus 3.0%.

Additionally, when the poll inquired whether, following three party rotations in Taiwan, the central government and ruling party still exhibit certain situations, the results show that 70.8% believe there is political interference in the media, 60.0% believe in the abuse of power by the government high officials, 59.3% think there is selective law enforcement by the government, 57.9% perceive political interference in investigations, and 57.6% see political interference in judicial cases.
