Children’s fruit coloring contest and festive calligraphy for the New Year, plus a lively pomelo-eating relay race.
To welcome the Lunar New Year, the First Department Store Molar Branch will be holding its annual 'Pomelo Festival' promotional event on Sunday, February 1st. This year’s theme, '20 Years of Great Pomelo Celebration – Golden Dragon Welcomes Spring – Sharing Pomelo Joy – Festive Cheer All Around,' marks the festival’s 20th anniversary, alongside the launch of the 2026 Taichung City, Taiwan Citrus and Seasonal Premium Agricultural Products Promotion Ceremony. People are invited to join in the festivities.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm on the event day, calligraphers from the Brunei Chinese Painting & Calligraphy Cultural Association are specially invited to write festive couplets on-site, which will be given free to attendees. Guests are welcome to choose their favorite auspicious phrases, which the calligraphers will write on the spot to take home and hang on their doors—bringing good fortune and happiness for the new year.
The highlight of the day, the Pomelo Relay Eating Contest, will be held at 2:30 pm. Companies and groups are encouraged to sign up in teams of three to promote teamwork spirit and inject more fun and energy into the event.
