France Deploys Aircraft Carrier and 'Rafale' Fighter Jets, Shoots Down Drone 'In Self-Defense'

French President Emmanuel Macron stated on the evening of the 3rd local time that France shot down a drone 'in self-defense' during the military conflict between Iran and the Middle East.

In a televised speech on the situation in Iran and the Middle East, he said that France, 'in self-defense,' shot down a drone in the first few hours of the conflict to protect the airspace of its allies.

He revealed that 'Rafale' fighter jets, air defense systems, and the frigate 'Languedoc' have already been dispatched to the affected regions.

He also confirmed that the French aircraft carrier 'Charles de Gaulle' will be deployed to the Mediterranean Sea.

He also said that two French overseas military bases were attacked, but with limited damage.

Macron believes that Iran 'bears primary responsibility' for the current situation, while the military actions of the United States and Israel violate international law.

He pointed out that the conflict is spreading in the region, posing serious consequences for regional peace and security, and called for the attacks to end as soon as possible, emphasizing that lasting peace in the region can only be achieved by resuming diplomatic negotiations.

Macron also asked Israel to respect Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity, warning that any Israeli ground military action in Lebanon would result in a dangerous escalation of the conflict. He called on Hezbollah in Lebanon to cease fire immediately.
