Bung Moktar’s Widow Acquitted of Bribery Conspiracy, Released in Court

(Kuala Lumpur, 20th) The Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court today ruled that Zizie Izette, widow of former UMNO Kinabatangan Member of Parliament Bung Moktar Radin, was not guilty on all three counts of abetment in the 2.8 million ringgit Federal Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (Felcra) bribery conspiracy case, and released her in court.

Sessions Court Judge Rozina Ayob made this ruling on Monday morning at the end of the defense stage.

The judge decided that the defense had successfully raised reasonable doubt in the case, thereby declaring the 47-year-old Zizie Izette not guilty and ordering her acquittal.

Zizie Izette was originally accused of abetting her husband, Bung Moktar, in 2015 to receive 2.8 million ringgit in cash bribes from a unit trust agent in exchange for Felcra’s approval of a 150 million ringgit investment in a unit trust fund.

Her husband, Bung Moktar, had previously passed away on December 5, 2025 due to illness, after which the prosecution withdrew the charges against him. The Sessions Court subsequently granted Bung Moktar a posthumous acquittal on January 16, 2026.
