(Bangkok, 7th) The Permanent Secretary of the Thai Ministry of Interior, Athisit Sanpanrat, stated that Thai Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin has approved and instructed the Ministry of Interior to implement five urgent national governance policies.

These policies are related to economic development, national security, improvement of people's quality of life, natural disaster management, and reform of the civil service system. Their aim is to strengthen cooperation among central government departments, state-owned enterprises, and local administrative bodies in order to improve administrative efficiency and promote public welfare.

According to a report by China News Service, Athisit said at a press conference on Saturday (June 6) that, in order to achieve tangible and rapid results, policy implementation should be advanced in the following five areas: First, reduce government spending, support economic stimulus policies, increase people's incomes, and promote the development of grassroots and community economies. Measures will be taken to ease the burden of water and electricity costs for the public, accelerate the issuance of land ownership certificates, and guarantee people's livelihood.

Second, address national security and drug issues by building safety cooperation mechanisms at the local level, safeguarding people's lives and property, cracking down harshly on drug trafficking and gambling activities, and strengthening law and order in border and southern regions.

Third, improve the quality of life for the people, build strong communities, care for vulnerable groups including the elderly and disabled, and ensure their full enjoyment of basic rights and welfare.

Fourth, implement disaster prevention and mitigation, achieve sustainable urban development, prepare for all types of extreme situations, carry out urban construction in a sustainable manner, and promote the use of clean energy.

Fifth, establish a modern, convenient, transparent, fair, and people-oriented public administration system, and promote the government's transition to a digital government. This includes focusing on building a systematic and modern digital government, upgrading the "Citizen Complaint Center" into an efficient institution for receiving complaints and quickly resolving public demands, and earnestly addressing structural corruption issues.
