(Miri, 4th) "If one day I am gone forever, please take care of my children, YB." These are the tearful words of a single mother, Jaisy, who is fighting stage four cancer, as she tightly held the hand of Miri Parliament Member Zhao Jun Wen.
Jaisy, 44, is raising four children alone while battling cancer. She and her first husband had one child and shared a dream of building a small house for their family in Miri. To achieve this dream, her husband worked tirelessly, but tragically passed away after collapsing from heatstroke during work.
Having lost her only economic support, Jaisy struggled with her young child. She made a living by selling vegetables and joining Malaysia's Civil Defence Force (JPAM). Later, she remarried and had three more children, temporarily rebuilding a happy family. However, fate struck again—when she was diagnosed with cancer, her husband left her.

Even while gravely ill, Jaisy continued to work hard just so her children could have food to eat and a roof over their heads. She insisted on saving bricks and cement every month, hoping that one day she could build a home for her children. However, the long-term burden eventually overwhelmed her, and doctors confirmed her cancer had entered its terminal stage.
"My greatest fear is that my children will be homeless in the future." She tearfully told Zhao Jun Wen.
Deeply moved, Zhao Jun Wen decided to fund the house-building project out of his own pocket. He contacted a contractor who responded positively and promised to supply additional materials and workers for free. Additionally, a group of volunteers from the Justice Party Youth Wing joined the effort, successfully building a cozy house for Jaisy and her family in just two weeks.

Zhao Jun Wen stated that he presented this house as a Gawai Dayak Festival gift to Jaisy's family and assured her not to worry. He promised to care for her children as if they were his own as long as he remains the MP of Miri.
He said this initiative united the love of the Miri community, embodying the true spirit of "Madani Malaysia," where people work together to overcome difficulties.
Zhao Jun Wen also thanked the contractors, volunteer teams, and everyone who contributed to realizing Jaisy's last wish, ensuring the children have a warm, permanent home.
