(Kuala Belait, 22nd) The Brunei Hakka Association held the Yi Si Year Spring Gala last night at the association’s clubhouse, where fellow villagers, guests, and members joyfully gathered to celebrate the festive season. The lively and warm atmosphere was filled with a strong sense of the New Year spirit.
The evening’s program was rich and varied, including group singing performances of “Congratulations to Everyone for the New Year” and “Hakka Essence,” as well as renditions of many festive and classic songs such as “Under the Banyan Tree,” “In Spring,” “Fengyang Joyfully Welcomes Spring,” and “This Year Will Be Better Than Last Year,” showcasing members’ diverse talents. The Women’s Group also presented a dance performance, adding to the festive cheer of the evening.
In addition, interactive sessions such as “Chinese Traditional Customs” quizzes, drawing and guessing games, and song title guessing raised non-stop laughter and sent the atmosphere soaring. The highlight of the event was the lucky draw, with a total of 28 prizes awarded, pushing the evening to its climax.
