According to Xinhua News Agency, the 48th meeting of the Chairpersons' Council of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) was held on the morning of the 26th at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, chaired by NPC Standing Committee Chairman Zhao Leji. The meeting decided that the 17th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress will be held in Beijing from September 8 to 12.
This Chairpersons' Council suggests that the agenda for the 17th Standing Committee meeting will include the review of multiple bills, specifically including the draft Atomic Energy Law, the draft Law on Response to Public Health Emergencies, the draft National Park Law, the draft revision of the Arbitration Law, the draft Law on Legal Publicity and Education, and the draft amendment to the Food Safety Law, among others.
The suggested agenda for this 17th Standing Committee meeting also includes deliberations on reports from the State Council regarding the implementation of the national economic and social development plan so far this year, the budget execution so far this year, the management of government debt for 2024, and a report from the General Office of the NPC Standing Committee on the key issues in the drafting work for the "15th Five-Year Plan" outline and specialized research work, among other items.
