Former Thai Prime Minister and Pheu Thai Party leader Paetongtarn posted on her personal social media account on the 6th, stating that the Pheu Thai Party will do its utmost to fulfill its role as the opposition, supervising the policies of the new government.
According to Thai Headline News Agency, Paetongtarn wrote that in the Pheu Thai Party’s history, there have been both moments of joy and difficult times that must be faced together, but the party has never relinquished its hope for the people, opportunities, or its faith in a better future.
She emphasized that from today onwards, Pheu Thai Party will steadfastly fulfill its responsibilities as an opposition party, ensuring that the parliamentary system proceeds along a democratic path. As for the administration results of the new government, Pheu Thai Party will bear no responsibility, but will uphold the party’s resolve and spirit, being accountable to the people.

Finally, Paetongtarn thanked supporters for their encouragement and companionship, stating that Pheu Thai Party will overcome the current challenges together, and will ultimately return with “a heart that belongs to the people.”
