This report, titled "Deeply Rooted and Flourishing, In Thailand and For Thailand," was compiled and published by the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Thailand, showcasing the contributions of Chinese enterprises to Thailand's socio-economic development in a comprehensive manner.
According to reports from China News Service, the report reveals that there are approximately 30,000 Chinese-invested enterprises in Thailand with a total investment of about 30 billion USD (approximately 126.8 billion MYR), reaching 5.1 billion USD in 2024.
The investment of Chinese enterprises in Thailand has also integrated local Thai enterprises and industries as an organic part of their supply chain, driving industrial upgrades and technological innovations, which in turn promotes local employment and skills improvement. Chinese enterprises in Thailand have created over 300,000 jobs locally. For example, in the Thai-Chinese Rayong Industrial Park alone, there are more than 220 manufacturing enterprises and over 30 commercial service enterprises, creating over 50,000 jobs.
The report states that over the years, Chinese enterprises have been committed to giving back to Thai society, actively funding local vocational education, healthcare, and social charity, benefiting Thai society. For instance, Bank of China Thailand has donated funds to the Thailand Association of the Blind to support the development of Chinese braille education in Thailand; SANY Thailand has made donations to Thai orphanages; China's Water Electronics Company donated funds to the Bangkok city government for mangrove restoration; Haier Thailand funded local primary school construction. Particularly during times of pandemics and natural disasters, Chinese enterprises have enthusiastically donated supplies and funds to the Thai government.
