On the 19th, Iranian President Pezeshkian stated in a phone call with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that the United States continues to display acts of bad faith during both the negotiation and ceasefire stages, exposing its intention to abandon diplomatic means.
According to Xinhua News Agency, Pezeshkian and Shehbaz exchanged views on the latest regional developments, negotiations in Islamabad, and matters related to the ceasefire.
Pezeshkian pointed out that the United States continues to exhibit bad faith, bullying, and unreasonable behavior during negotiations and ceasefire stages. He emphasized that the US continues to implement so-called maritime blockades and other provocative and illegal moves, which not only openly violate the ceasefire agreement, but also contravene the purposes and principles of the UN Charter. He added that such actions, along with US officials’ threatening remarks against Iran, will only deepen doubts about the US’s sincerity in negotiations and further expose its intent to repeat past mistakes and abandon diplomatic means.
